I have never requested to see enemy energy, I just want to see that of my teammates. I know the click + ctrl is available, it is also available for health but I am allowed to see that without click + ctrl, so why not just add it for party members/allies.
In terms of the just do click + ctrl to get energy, I have been in more than my fair share of teams where I do that and still get ignored.

i know a lot of arguement has gone on and i dont have time or patience to read it so im sorry if this has been said, giving an energy bar would cause drastic change in gameplay and interface. First ill talk about the interface, It would cause the party window to be so much bigger to fit it all that it would end up taking up half your screen. For gameplay it would ruin a lot of strategy and it would also be daunting having to look at energy and health. Having an energy bar would cause a lot of mayhem because people are gonna think, "Energy bar! must mean we need a guy to fix it!" BiP's and other energy regeners are gonna be as readily looked for as monks and god knows that most teams dont need it. This idea would possibly (probably not) work better for experienced players, but it would be chaos for unexperienced players.

There is no reason against it other tan possible lag.
The nergy bar could be just quite thin, noticeable if you pay attention to it, but not more than 2 pixels big in the Smallest GUI size.
Soecially when it comes to henchmen and NPC allies it would come in handy.

I agree with the idea. 1 problem though, you can ding your energy all day long and still the warriors run off, what makes you think they would pay attention to a bar when they dont pay attention to a energy spam? And dont tell me they cant see "i have 6 of 53 energy" scrolling past like wildfire. Other then that..I think its a great idea.

As a healer, the only thing I watch is my partys' health bars. I pay no attention to chat. Seeing the energy bars of the team can be benefitial to the support people, especially the BiPs.
No need to see the enemy bar. Don't need the enemy to see that the monk is low on energy and turn their full attention on the monk.

Well, yea, there's no need to see enemy's energy bars as a monk, I figured that was obvious.
Where this would come in handy is as a Mesmer or maybe a warrior calling tactics, but it would really dumb down the game and make it a lot easier, so I'm not really sure which way to go on this one.

I think the OP meant to see only the energy bars of your team in the party window. In PvP no sh1t it would be stupid. I agree with putting energy bars in the party window. No energy bars under an enemies hp.

Seeing party's own energy bar is helpful in many ways.
And the only reason why I think seeing enemy energy bar is not agreed upon, is because we did not start playing the game being able to see it. Imagine if we started playing this game not being able to see the enemy health bar.
I'd vote for a tier system.
Easy Mode: you can see both party and enemy Health and Energy bars. (Tutorial areas: Pre-Searing, Shing Jea, Istan)
Normal Mode: you can see own party's Health and Energy bar.
Hard Mode: you can see own party's Health bar. Can't see enemy's Health bar.
Nightmare Mode: you can't see anyone's Health or Energy bars except your own. (Hardmode in Elite Dungeons?!)
A corresponding version for PvP can be conceived I suppose. Obviously never going to be implemented, but perhaps in future games.

Interesting tiered theory, I can guarantee I would never do nightmare mode unless I was solo farming.

Is that when you can't even see your own health and energy bar?

Uhmm, it makes more lag. No thanks and I don't need that crap!
You know an ally is low energy, so what? Can't you just PING it or tell the team to play defensive? The health bar is for monks to heal. Energy bar for what? BiP? Jeez! What an useless idea! Whatever I play, I don't care how much energy do my allies have. The monk under pressure? Low Energy? Tell me, 1 ping is good enough!
Oh btw, do you know how annoying it will be when you misclick to a useless Energy bar instead of HP bar? Nice joke!

I will go only for allied energy, and only for those allies that are shown in the party panel.
NEVER in the 'selected target' panel, only in the Party Panel.

See allied energy bars = Yes
See enemy energy bars = No
Allied bars could be helpful, for knowing when to agro, or when to move in or pull out in GvG
Enemy bars would just make being a mesmer or a monk stupidly easy
